Fowler Unified School District students in grades 3-8 and grade 11 annually take the Smarter Balanced On-Line State Assessment.  Results from 2016 showed growth in both English Language Arts (2% growth) and Math (5% growth) district wide.

Highlights include significant growth of students meeting or exceeding state standards:

  • Fowler High School - 73% of students met or exceeded 11th grade state standards in English Language Arts (ELA).  (This percentage is among the highest in Fresno County with only Buchanan, Clovis North and Clovis High School scoring higher.)

  • Sutter Middle School - growth of 14% in Math for 6th grade

  • Fremont/Malaga Elementary Schools - 3rd grade ELA growth of 16% and Math growth of 15%

  • Fremont/Malaga Elementary Schools - 5th grade ELA growth of 12%

This outstanding academic achievement is reflective of the K-12 educational program and experience at all schools in the Fowler Unified School District.

State test scores are only one measure of student achievement as there are also several other measures of academic and school performance.  Students and teachers throughout Fowler Unified School District are to be congratulated for the continued academic growth as schools in the District strive for continuous improvement.
