Construction will begin soon on a number of projects in Fowler Unified School District, highlighted by the new District pool at Fowler High School. Demolition and mobilization will start in late June on the new, 9-lane pool that is scheduled to be completed in April, 2018. The District’s All-Weather Track will be resurfaced this summer – adding new striping and painting – and new, energy-efficient lighting will be constructed at the track, replacing the current light poles. Construction of the new lights and poles should be finished in the fall.
The entire Sutter Middle School campus will be repainted in July – keeping with the same grey and red exterior colors – and the Fowler High School campus will have the exterior trim painted in July as well. In addition, Sutter Middle School and Fowler High School will be adding modular classrooms – two at each school – to manage increases in enrollment. Installation of the classrooms will take place over the summer months and will be ready for the start of the 2017/2018 school year. Funds from the recently passed Fowler Unified School Construction Bond, Measure “J” – along with state grant funds and developer fees – will be used to finance these projects.
